Climate change is creating new safety challenges, and Flextherm is there to help you meet some of these challenges with its self-regulating heating cables designed for professionals.
Flextherm’s self-regulating cables protect residential infrastructures and prevent snow and ice damage to pipes, roofs, and gutters. They are specially designed to react proportionally to the ambient temperature.
What’s the difference?
The main difference between a constant wattage cable and a self-regulating one is that a self-regulating cable can control its temperature based on the needs of the application for which it is used while a constant wattage heating cable maintains a constant temperature according to the power supplied to it.
Essentially, this means that, in a self-regulating heating cable, the temperature can vary according to the needs, whereas a constant wattage heating cable always maintains the same temperature.
Since frequent and significant temperature variations are a common feature of our winters, a self-regulating heating cable will save energy when it isn’t as cold – in contrast to cheap constant wattage cables – while providing increased durability.
Flextherm offers pre-assembled cable for ease of installation, and bulk cable for more complex projects.
As the saying goes, better safe than sorry!
